Volunteering

Imagine being the difference in someone’s life.  A conversation, an hour of your time, an act of kindness can transform the recipient as well as the giver.

Volunteering to aid senior citizens is a meaningful way to make a contribution to your community.  The worldwide epidemic of isolation and loneliness among the elderly is well documented.  Elders, as well as younger citizens, have much to gain in personal fulfillment by donating time, skills and passion to the older population.

Senior Services offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to impact the lives of seniors in Hancock County.  From weekly check-in phone calls to regular in-home visitation to the homebound, a volunteer has the chance to make that difference.  Individuals or small groups of volunteers can help with home maintenance projects such as lawn and garden care to indoor projects.  Volunteers may also help at our office site with occasional clerical tasks or during our fundraising events.
